Building on its successful year-long collaboration with Avenue 50 Studio in Highland Park, the Arroyo Arts Collective is calling on artists to submit their work, either individually or with fellow artists, for possible display at the studio. The Collective will also review submissions from curators who wish to put on exhibits of artists’ work. This opportunity is open to members of the Collective; dues are $25 a year. The selected artwork will hang in the studio for one month, including a reception during a NELA Art Walk, which are held on the second Saturday of each month. The Artists fee of $200 to rent the three-walled space will be charged and a 20% commission on any artwork that is sold will go to the studio. To become a member of Arroyo Arts Collective, send a check for $25 to Arroyo Arts Collective, P.O. Box 50835, York Station, Los Angeles, CA 90050. The Ford Theatres, a 1,200-seat amphitheater nestled in the Cahuenga Pass, is beginning the process of choosing artists for its 2019 Artists Partnership Program. Artists who are selected receive comprehensive technical, marketing and box office support to stage their dance, music, theater or film productions during the Ford’s 2019 season. The artists also get to keep 80% to 90% of the ticket revenue generated by their productions. The first step in the selection process is a Letter of Intent, a two-page summary of your proposal – due Monday, June 11. If your Letter of Intent is approved, you will be invited to submit a full application. Instructions can be found at fordtheatres.org, under the tab “Artists Portal.”
