1. ERNC meeting attendance-
2. Agenda-Executive Comm. Mtg. 12-26-11
Dear Board members and other interested parties,
1. The underwhelming response to my email survey of board members appears statistically very insignificant and so, in the absence of any clear showing of a problem in achieving a quorum for both the Executive Committee and the General Meeting, the meeting dates will NOT need to be moved. My concern was getting some indication of sufficient meeting attendance as the holidays may have affected board attendance, as well as an impact on general attendance by stakeholder.
I want to thank those who replied to the unofficial survey. Also please remember the ongoing expectation of board members to advise of an inability to attend a meeting as soon as practicable.
2. Attached for your review is the Agenda for the next Eagle Rock Neighborhood Councils Executive Committee meeting scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on Monday evening, 12-26-11. The agenda items for the next ERNC regular general meeting will be determined at that meeting..
If you would like to submit an item or topic to appear on the Agenda for the next general board meeting, please read the following:
If you have an item you would like to be included as agenda item for the ERNC January 3, 2012 general meeting , please informany member of the Executive Committee – Michael Larsen, President; Michael Nogueira, Vice-President; Robert Guevara, Secretary; Brian Heckmann, Treasurer; and Jared Hardy, Communications and Government Relations Director in advance of the meeting by any means convenient for you, including email, telephone, fax or in person, Email and telephone contact information can be found on the ERNC web site at http://www.eaglerockcouncil.org/
Why submit anything now for a later meeting?
Only items that appear on the Agenda can be acted upon by the ERNC at the regular meetings, a legal requirement. If you want something placed on the regular meeting’s agenda, present this first to the Executive Committee. The Board will not be able to take any action upon it at the general meeting, although Non-Agenda Public Comment allows a two minute period per person to speak about relevant matters not on the agenda. This applies to stake holders and to board members..
Try to keep agenda item submissions simple, relevant, and timely. Also do not suggest language for a topic for “Discussion/Action” that creates a foregone conclusion as to the outcome of any vote on a particular issue.
Again, please send your agenda request(s) to any member of the Executive Committee. It is important that all matters, including information regarding subject matter jurisdiction, be done in a transparent manner at public meetings so that a consensus or agreement is not reached by a majority of the voting members before the meeting.
All board members, committee members, and members of the general public are welcome to attend any and all meetings to see how the process works.
Sincerely,
Robert Guevara
Secretary and Education Director
Eagle Rock Neighborhood Council
