Los Angeles.  A sixteen year old student fought off a male who attempted to drag her toward his waiting vehicle.  Detectives are asking for the public’s help in identifying and locating the suspect.

On March 14, 2012, around 8:20 a.m., Northeast Juvenile Detectives were called to the L.A. River High School for a kidnap investigation. The 16-year-old female victim told police that she was walking on the sidewalk in the area of Cypress Avenue and Silver Street on her way to school when the suspect, who was waiting by his car, grabbed her as she walked by and pulled her toward his vehicle. The victim fought to pull away and ran to school.

The suspect is described as a 25-30 year-old male Hispanic, who stood about 5 feet, 7 inches tall, and weighs about 180 pounds with brown eyes. The suspect may have acne or chicken pox scars on his face and what appeared to be three to five day’s facial hair growth. The suspect’s vehicle is described as a Toyota style pickup with faded red paint. There were unknown metal objects loaded in the rear of the truck.
