Assemblymember Anthony Portantino (D- La Cañada Flintridge) was recently honored by the San Gabriel Civic Alliance with its Legislator of the Year award at a ceremony held Saturday in Baldwin Park. During his six years in the Legislature, Portantino has been a strong advocate for bi-partisan efforts to promote open government, educational excellence and business expansion in the San Gabriel Valley. The Civic Alliance is a unique organization that promotes partnerships between business and labor. Portantino shared the award with Republican Assemblymember Curt Hagaman. The award was presented by Senator Ed Hernandez.
“I am very pleased to receive this award from a coalition that promotes economic awareness by bringing together representatives from business, government, labor and education,” said Assemblymember Portantino. “Since joining the State Assembly, I have tried to promote the best interests of the San Gabriel Valley, while reaching across party lines to help the communities in our region.”
