Councilmember Huizar to Attend Several Memorial Day Observations
Will join veterans in El Sereno Saturday and in Boyle Heights and Highland Park on Monday for Memorial Day Services

LOS ANGELES (May 25, 2012) – Councilmember José Huizar will join veterans and their families at a Memorial and flag raising ceremony in El Sereno on Saturday.

He will also participate in the last shift of the 24-hour vigil at the war memorial in Cinco Puntos (Five Points) in Boyle Heights on Monday. The vigil, in which at least one person will be standing guard throughout, begins Sunday and will carry over into the Monday morning ceremony where the veterans will be joined by elected officials and dignitaries.

On Monday, Huizar will also join the American Legion Post 206 for their Annual Ceremony for the Highland Park Veterans Memorial Square Memorial Day ceremony.
