KCAL9/CBS chooses Eagle Rock High for Student and Teacher of the Month

Today was a special one for Eagle Rock Junior and Senior High School.   

KCAL9/CBS2 chose an Eagle Rock High Senior and the Eagle Rock High physics teacher to honor this month for their outstanding achievements.  Hundreds of students filled the gymnasium to congratulate the winners.  The Eagles’ marching drum corps and school choir opened a happy ceremony.  

The honored Student, Alan Cisneros, is a scholar athlete, who completed a 4,000-word thesis in the school’s Int’l Baccalaureate Diploma Program  and made 154 tackles in captaining the defensive unit of the undefeated 2019 Eagles football team. 

The Teacher, Sara Ramos-Lopez teaches Advanced Placement and the Int’l Baccalaureate physics program and among her achievements counts over 50% of the students being female.

Proud Principal, Mylene Keipp, welcomed all present, School Board Vice President Jackie Goldberg presented certificates to the honorees, Jim Hill from KCAL9/CBS encouraged all the hundreds of students in attendance to “spread their wings and fly high” and Jonathan Franklin, UCLA and Green Bay Packers alum, represented the LA Rams at the ceremony.
