NELA residents can dispose of used tires at a free collection event sponsored by the L.A. Bureau of Sanitation on Saturday, Sept. 15 at the Yosemite Recreation Center in Eagle Rock. Tires cannot go in the trash bin or the recycling bin, so the collection event is a chance to de-clutter your immediate environs without harming the environment in the process. There’s a limit of nine tires per trip per person. Tires on rims will be accepted, but no big oversized tires. For more details and questions, call 800-773-2489.
